  • Total Time: 42 minutes

  • Servings: 20

What You’ll Need (Ingredients)

  • 1 quart fresh strawberries – Fresh strawberries are a must. Do not use frozen strawberries.

  • 4 oz chocolate – You can use whatever kind of chocolate you like, semi-sweet, milk chocolate, or even dark chocolate.

  • For the Face: 30–40 candy eyeballs (2 per strawberry) and round orange sprinkles (for the beak).

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberry Penguins (Instructions)

  1. Prep the strawberries: Wash and completely dry the strawberries with paper towels. The chocolate won’t stick to a damp berry. Place skewers into the end of the strawberry to keep your fingers out of the chocolate.

  2. Melt the chocolate: Chop the chocolate and place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave it for 30-second intervals at 50% power until melted and smooth, stirring between each interval.Laisser figer à la verticale, généré par IA

  • Dip the strawberry: Dip the strawberry into the chocolate, leaving a triangle chocolate-free for the belly of the penguin. Add the eyes above the belly, then press the round sprinkles into the strawberry under the eyes to form the beak.

  • Let Set: Place the skewers in an upright position until the chocolate sets, about 20–30 minutes.

Tips for Strawberry Penguins

  • Make sure to use ripe, red strawberries for the best result. Do not use frozen strawberries.

  • Store your creations in the fridge until you’re ready to eat them. However, they should ideally be eaten the same day you make them as this recipe does not freeze well.

  • No coconut oil needed. Although coconut oil or shortening is usually added to the chocolate, the moisture in the strawberries softens the chocolate enough to give you the same consistency.
