For the reindeer, you need one white paper plate, brown acrylic paint, a paintbrush, brown, cream and black cardstock, two googly eyes, one red pompom, scissors, a pencil, craft glue, a hole punch and cotton cord.
For the complete garland, add five more paper plates, red, green, black and peach paint, white cotton balls, colored pompoms, red and gold ribbon, burgundy plaid ribbon, and cardstock in red, black, white, orange, brown and gold.
How to make it
Paint the front of a paper plate brown and let it dry completely. Cut two branching antlers and two pointed oval ears from brown cardstock. Cut smaller ear centers from cream cardstock and glue them onto the ears.
Glue the antler bases behind the plateβs upper edge, then attach the ears behind the rim just below them. Add the googly eyes, red pompom nose and curved black cardstock smile. Punch two small hanging holes near the upper rim, keeping them clear of the glued antler bases.
Make the five companion decorations from the remaining plates using painted surfaces, cardstock details and lightweight embellishments. Allow all the paint and glue to dry before hanging.
Secure a long cotton cord to two wall hooks, leaving a gentle curve between them. Tie each decoration to it using two short loops through its upper holes. Space the six designs evenly and adjust the loops until they face forward with their hats, antlers and other details fully visible
