💚🎄 A Grinch-Inspired Fruit Platter That Will Steal the Show This Christmas! 🍓

What you need

A large white rectangular serving platter, approximately 800 grams to 1 kilogram of green grapes, the seeds from one large pomegranate, two red-skinned apples, a few red grapes, three kiwis, four mandarins, one orange and thin black licorice laces. You will also need a cutting board, a paring knife, a small spoon and a little lemon juice to help keep the apple pieces from browning.

How to make it

Wash and dry the fruit thoroughly. Cut the apples into thin crescents for the hat brim, then prepare two broader pieces for the eyes and two narrow wedges for the eyelids. Lightly brush the cut apple surfaces with lemon juice. Peel and slice the kiwis, separate the mandarins into segments and cut several narrow curved strips from the orange peel.

Arrange the green grapes directly on the platter to create a wide face with full cheeks and a smaller chin. Add a few grapes at either side to suggest pointed cheek tufts. Spoon the pomegranate seeds into a curved triangular Santa hat above the forehead, then overlap the apple crescents across its base to form the brim.

Place the apple eyes over the grapes and add red grape halves as pupils, keeping their cut sides downward. Position the apple eyelids and shape the licorice into slanted eyebrows. Add a red grape half for the nose, then arrange the orange peel strips into a broad curved smile. Finish the mouth corners and chin with short licorice details.

Decorate the hat tip with a kiwi round, short orange peel strips and mandarin segments. Arrange the remaining kiwi rounds and mandarin segments beneath the face. Refrigerate until serving, and remove the decorative orange peel strips before eating if preferred.
